It is known the goddess Venus was resting on the banks of the Indus River. As she slept, Cupid used the point of his arrow and gave her a manicure. The pieces of her nails fell into the waters of the sacred river. Since her nails were from heavenly origin they were metamorphosed into onyx gemstones.

MHART is a New York–based jewelry brand handcrafted by designer Michael Hartney. Since 2010, every piece has been individually made by hand, using natural gemstones sourced from the earth and caged in finely-woven silver or gold chain — a design signature inspired by the geometry and strength of a spider web.
