African Turquoise is one of the most visually alive stones we work with. Vivid teal-green with natural matrix patterns — dark veining that runs through each stone differently. No two are the same. We cage each one individually in .925 sterling silver, link by link, until the chain forms a structure around the stone's own shape.

The stone stays fully visible through the cage. You're wearing the stone, not a setting.

MHART is a New York–based jewelry brand handcrafted by designer Michael Hartney. Since 2010, every piece has been individually made by hand, using natural gemstones and silver or gold chain — a design signature inspired by Gaudí's architecture — the Modelo Funicular.
